SHOP UPDATE & PROGRESS PART 2
Hola! So, it's been a while since I actually updated you guys on the shop progress!
I do apologise. I know lots of you have been waiting and waiting for some products, thank you! I can promise, they are coming very soon. I thought I might do a little Q&A session here with some of the things I get asked so I can keep you in the loop of all the goings on behind the scenes here and hope you can stick around for the launch which is on its way.....
SO, WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE SHOP?
Currently, I'm awaiting an epic fabric delivery...this means once I get this vital raw material, I can start to have products made up. Alongside this, I'm sourcing some new products (see below on what I will be selling) and preparing for a new Instagram account which will be all about the shop.
When I look back at how long ago it was since I started talking about launching the blog shop it seems, embarrassingly, a VERY long time ago. Why is it that things always take so long to happen? It feels like I've been working on this for about 15 years and I'm still going at a snail's pace! Anyhow, I'm now nearing the final stages of the prep before I press the GO button!
I'M CURRENTLY.... MAKING PRODUCT BACKDROPS
So this week, I've been working on creating some photography backdrops for the product shots which I'm looking to shoot in the next few weeks. With the help of my pa, we've been painting big boards in some pretty colours, blue, green and pink and applying a RAG ROLL effect to them. That's right folks, RAG ROLL, the ancient art from the 80's and 90's in which a darker colour of paint is applied to a lighter colour background with a dabbing motion using a piece of cotton fabric to create a sort of three-dimensional effect. It's tricky to see the effect on these shots taken on my iPhone but I hope the end result will look fab and a bit different. (I predict a rag roll and stipple (that's the one where a stippling brush is used to apply a spray of paint giving a sort of refined splattered effect) after having seen the huge marble effects on wallpaper and fabrics of late).
WHAT WILL YOU BE SELLING EXACTLY?
Well, I plan to have three sections to the boutique here at House Anna; the first is the products which I'm creating from my own fabric designs, the second is a small collection of one-off antique pieces such as candlesticks, lampshades and framed prints, and thirdly I thought it might also be useful to have a sort of wishlist of bigger ticket items which I can link to from here, like sofas, lighting and furniture which I've carefully sourced and think you guys would like.
WHEN WILL YOU BE LAUNCHING?
Even though I judged my initial launch for the end of last year rather optimistically, I'm on track for the end of JUNE/JULY or even before for some of the products but not all. So keep your eyes peeled for a new Instagram account for the House Anna Boutique too, you'll still be able to catch up on more day to day stuff, blog posts and inspiration from me at the usual House_Anna Insta account as well.
WILL YOU KEEP WRITING YOUR BLOG
Hell yeah! Although the shop is soaking up a lot of my time, and to be honest, my blog has suffered because of this, I'm totally still going to keep writing. l love to write about the stuff I find interesting and hopefully inspiring for others. You may, however, see a bit of blog refining going on in the next few months which will mean me zoning into more of a niche topic.
OVER TO YOU?
So with that in mind, I would LOVE to know what sort of thing you would like to read about on here? My most popular content has been the colour focused posts so I may pick up this thread and delve a bit deeper into the subject...but I would love to know what you would like to see more of here... DIY, STYLING, INSPIRATIONAL PLACES.....? Hit me up guys!
Till next time!
